Preventing the Wife from Working After Agreeing on It

Question
Is it permissible for the husband to prevent his wife from working after marriage, knowing that they had agreed on her working before marriage, and that her work aligns with fulfilling her duties towards her husband and children without conflicting with them?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is the husband's right to prevent his wife from going out unless it is necessary, and working is not a necessity for a woman. An agreement made before marriage regarding a woman's work does not bind either the man or the woman, as it contradicts the essence of the contract. Any condition that contradicts the essence of the contract is not binding. The reality of married life and its requirements are not fully understood by either spouse; therefore, what matters is the essence of the contract, not what was agreed upon. Consequently, the husband has the right to prevent his wife from working outside the home, and God knows best.
