Prayer towards a direction other than the Qibla without seeking confirmation
A woman prayed the Asr prayer without confirming the direction of the Qibla and did not ask anyone about it. After she finished, they informed her that she was facing the wrong Qibla. Should she repeat her prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If she has made an effort and reached a place of inquiry, she should not repeat in a place where there is no one to ask about the Qibla. However, if she is in a place where there are people to ask and she did not ask and made a mistake, then she must repeat it. And God knows best.
