I say, and with God's help: It is better to give it before the Eid prayer or at a time when the poor can benefit from it more. The Zakat al-Fitr is not invalidated by delaying its payment beyond the Eid prayer; because the payment of Zakat is obligatory over time, and nothing is required to be done immediately. One can fulfill it at any time of the year, and God knows best.
