Performing Umrah at the Expense of Others
My brother is religiously committed and wishes to perform Umrah, but his current financial situation does not allow it. Can I give him the costs of Umrah and consider it a charity for the soul of my deceased daughter?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to give charity to a brother for performing Umrah or other purposes, and you will be rewarded for that. You can dedicate the reward of this charity to whomever you wish, whether it's a daughter or someone else, and God knows best.
