Paying Zakat Without Verification
What is the ruling for someone who paid zakat to a poor person without any verification and then it turned out that he gave it to a rich person?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's success: Paying zakat without verification is not sufficient, and he must repay the zakat, as mentioned in Al-Durr Al-Muntaka 1: 225, and Allah knows best.
