Paying Zakat to the Needy Son-in-Law
A woman has two married daughters, and their husbands are in a weak financial situation. One of them is studying at university relying on assistance or loans, and the other is suffering from near infertility and undergoing IVF treatments. Is it permissible to give them from Zakat money?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to give zakat al-mal to children at all, but it can be given to the son's wife or the daughter's husband if they are poor, and God knows best.
