Paying Zakat to the Mosque
Is it permissible to pay Zakat to the mosque as part of the cause of Allah Almighty?
Answer
I say, and with God's help, that zakat is not valid unless it is given to a poor person, and the mosque is not a place that owns zakat. And God knows best.
