Paying Zakat to Non-Muslims
Is it permissible to pay zakat to non-Muslims? And if it is permissible, is it required that they be from the People of the Book?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat may only be given to a Muslim, while other forms of charity may be given to a person of the Book, and God knows best.
