Question
My son is poor, and he is married and lives in a house by himself. Is it permissible for me to give him from my Zakat or Fitr charity?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to give zakat and the charity of breaking the fast to ancestors and descendants, and your son is one of your descendants, so it is not permissible even if he is poor. However, it can be given to his wife, and she has the right to use it as she wishes, and God knows best.
