Paying Zakat on Wealth in Kind
I have money that is due for Zakat, is it permissible to give food instead of cash, like a Ramadan basket (rice, oil, flour, and similar items)?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is permissible for him to give cash or its equivalent, and the one giving zakat should assess the condition of the poor person and choose what is most beneficial for him. And God knows best.
