Paying Zakat for the Husband

Question
A woman, due to her husband's weak financial situation, is forced to take parts of her gold, sell it, and buy basic necessities for the house and children such as medicine and education. Does this spending count as Zakat on her gold? Note that she owns approximately one hundred and twenty-five grams, give or take a little?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to give zakat (almsgiving) to one's husband or children; rather, you should assist them from your own wealth. And God knows best.
