Paying Zakat for My Sister
I have a small amount of Zakat money, and I have a poor sister who wants to buy clothes for her children. Is it permissible for me to buy her the clothes and use the amount as an advance payment for a monthly installment, since the clothes are more expensive than the amount I have?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to give zakat to a poor sister, and you will receive the reward of zakat and the reward of kinship. It is permissible to give it in the form of clothes, food, or otherwise, and it is also permissible to pay it in installments as you wish; because it is a great door of goodness, so it should not be prevented.
