Question
Is it permissible for a man living in America to pay Zakat al-Fitr in Jordan? Should he calculate Zakat al-Fitr as determined by the Muslim community in America or according to Jordan?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible if it is to his relatives or to a people who are more in need of it than the people of his town; otherwise, it is disliked, and it is considered according to the country in which he lives, and God knows best.
