Question
A man fell ill on the second day of the month of Ramadan, and after eight days he passed away. Do his heirs have to pay a ransom equivalent to the feeding as an expiation for fasting, or is it not required? If it is required, is it for the entire month or just for the eight days?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: He is not required to pay a ransom; because no number of days has come from other days to make up for it, and God knows best.
