Question
Whoever is unable to fast at all must pay Fidya: which is feeding a poor person for each day. Is it permissible to give this Fidya as money to a student of knowledge? Or is its only use to feed a poor person?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to give the expiation as money to a student of knowledge, and it is permissible to give the expiation in value, which is estimated at two dinars, and God knows best.
