Paying Fidya Instead of Fasting for Those Who Are Able

Question
I am a diabetic and have hypothyroidism, and I fasted for 17 days of Ramadan, and I broke my fast for the remaining days due to my monthly excuse. Is it permissible to pay fidya instead of the days I broke my fast due to the legitimate excuse?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the doctor tells you that fasting is harmful to you, then you can pay the compensation for each day, which is feeding a poor person, and God knows best.
