Paying Charity for a Smoker
Is it permissible to pay off a family's debts to the grocer if the husband, wife, and children are smokers?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is permissible to give charity to them and pay off their debts, although it is preferable to give to others who do not spend their money on tobacco. And God knows best.
