Number of Sunnah Prayers
How many rak'ahs are the Sunnah prayers, and are they before or after the obligatory prayers?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The confirmed Sunnah prayers are the two Rak'ahs of the Fajr Sunnah, four Rak'ahs of the Sunnah before Dhuhr, two Rak'ahs of the Sunnah after Dhuhr, two Rak'ahs of the Maghrib Sunnah, and two Rak'ahs of the Isha Sunnah, and God knows best.
