I say, and with God's success: twenty rak'ahs, and the companions were unanimous on that, and the caliphs adhered to it. There is a hadith that supports this, which was narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah and others, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, prayed in Ramadan with twenty rak'ahs and the witr.
