Not Seeing Blood After Birth

Question
Is a woman considered postpartum if she does not see blood?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If she gives birth and does not see blood, the established opinion is that she becomes a postpartum woman; because the child cannot be separated from the blood flow. This is the opinion of Abu Hanifa, and the initial opinion of Abu Yusuf, who later retracted and said: She is pure and does not need to wash. Most of the scholars adopted the opinion of Abu Hanifa, and it is the one that is fatwaed, as mentioned in Al-Muhit, and it was confirmed in Al-Zahiriyah and Al-Siraj. Thus, it was the prevailing school of thought as mentioned in Al-Bahr. See: Manhal Al-Waridin p. 34, 56, and Dhakhr Al-Mutahilin p. 56, and others. And God knows best.
