Question
Does menstruation prevent the prostration of recitation and gratitude?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Menstruation prevents the prostration of recitation and gratitude just as it prevents prayer altogether. However, it is recommended for her, when the time for prayer enters, to perform ablution and sit at the mosque of her house where she can perform the prayer, to engage in glorification and praise. It was reported from Aisha, may God be pleased with her: "We would experience that, and we were commanded to make up the fast, but we were not commanded to make up the prayer" in Sahih Muslim 1: 265, and Jami' al-Tirmidhi 1: 270, and Musnad Abu Awana 1: 383, and God knows best.
