Question
Is it permissible for a daughter to make up the Ramadan fasting for her mother who has passed away and has days of fasting owed?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is not permissible for one person to fast on behalf of another, nor for one person to pray on behalf of another. However, it is possible to pay a ransom for her mother, which is the equivalent of two dinars for each day. And God knows best.
