Making the Passport a Pledge
Is it permissible for me to buy furniture on credit while putting my passport as collateral?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Selling on credit is permissible, and it is allowed to provide collateral for that, but using a passport as collateral is punishable by law, so we must avoid it. And God knows best.
