Question
What is the ruling on a will made by an adult who bequeaths one-third of his wealth to non-heirs, and advises his children to do good, not to sell properties, to maintain family ties, and to keep the siblings united, etc.?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is permissible to make a will for both adults and minors, and the will is recommended for non-heirs, up to one-third of the wealth and no more. The will regarding non-assets is considered advice; if they wish, they can act upon it, otherwise, they do not have to. And God knows best.
