I say, and with Allah's success: I'tikaf is not valid from a non-Muslim; because Islam is a condition for the validity of I'tikaf, as the non-Muslim is not among the people of worship. See: Bada'i' al-Sana'i 2: 108, and Al-Hadiyyah al-'Alaiyyah p. 57, and Allah knows best.
