Interpretation of the Verse about Stepdaughters
What is the interpretation of His saying: {And your stepdaughters who are in your guardianship from your women to whom you have gone in, but if you have not gone in to them, there is no sin upon you} [An-Nisa: 23].
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The stepdaughter is the daughter of the woman who marries and moves with her mother to her new husband, so she is raised in his house, and it is not permissible for him to marry her; because she is the daughter of his wife even if she does not move into his house, and God knows best.
