Question
I have a question regarding 'intention in the context of fasting': Is it sufficient to have suhoor and wake up before dawn for eating to fulfill the intention? If we assume that a person wakes up and eats suhoor, but it is not their habit to eat at that time, does that suffice for the intention or not? What does it mean when scholars say: 'intention is above knowledge'?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Suhoor is considered an intention, so knowledge alone is not enough; intention is necessary, and God knows best.
