Intention in Ablution

Question
Why did the Hanafi school not require intention in ablution?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The issue has many evidences that can be reviewed in the books of the Hanafis, including: it requires a definitive proof regarding ablution, and there is none. The existing hadith: "Actions are judged by intentions" is a single narration, and similar narrations establish the Sunnah, not the obligation. Furthermore, ablution is a condition for prayer, not an act of worship intended for itself. Its ruling is like that of other conditions of prayer, which do not require intention, such as covering the private parts and removing impurities, and God knows best.
