Implying Polygamy in Front of the Wife
A man constantly implies and talks a lot in front of his wife about his desire for polygamy, and that the Sharia has permitted him that, despite the fact that she does not neglect any of her marital rights. Is this action permissible according to Sharia?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Polygamy is a right granted by the noble Sharia to husbands who can afford it and fulfill their rights and duties. However, it is contrary to honor to allude to it, so as not to hurt the feelings of the wife, which may cause psychological harm to her. And God knows best.
