Question
A lady has a housekeeper, a Kenyan national, who was Christian and then converted to Islam. The lady taught her the rules of purification and prayer, but she does not speak Arabic well and only memorizes half of Al-Fatiha, and she breaks her prayers. What should the lady do? Is she sinful for her shortcomings in prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: She should make an effort to teach her about her purification and prayer and what is necessary for her according to her ability, for we are not tasked with what we cannot bear. With this intention and this action, we ask God that she does not incur sin, and God knows best.
