Question
A person has money that he trades in electronics and profits from it, and if he were to gather all his money from people now (his capital and profit) it would amount to (4500) dinars. Does he owe Zakat? What is its amount? Note that he started trading with an amount of (2500) dinars and what he currently owns is (470) dinars?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is obligatory on him if a full year has passed over his ownership of the nisab, which is (100) grams, and it is not obligatory to pay it now unless the money is in his hands and not debts owed by others, and God knows best.
