Going to the Doctor When Sick
What is the ruling on someone who falls ill and does not go to the doctor, saying: 'And when I am ill, it is He who cures me,' and 'Say, 'Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us,' and 'I will not die until my appointed time comes'?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: Treatment by doctors is recommended and not obligatory; because healing from illness is presumed and not certain, and God knows best.
