Giving Zakat al-Fitr for the Poor Sister
A woman has four children and had to live with her widowed mother due to her husband's financial difficulties. Is it permissible for her mother to ask her male siblings for Zakat al-Fitr for their poor sister?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to give zakat and the fitrah charity to brothers and sisters, and it is permissible for the mother to ask for it for her daughter, and God knows best.
