Giving Group Donations to the Poor
We are a group of young people collecting money under the name 'Fasting Person's Iftar' to buy food supplies. Is it permissible to take a part of this money and give it to the poor?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: You are agents for the people in collecting money for iftar only, so it is not permissible for you to go against what you have been entrusted with unless some have permitted you to do so, and God knows best.
