Giving a Woman's Zakat to Her Family Without Her Husband's Permission

Question
Is it permissible for a married woman to give her Zakat to her sisters and family?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: A woman's financial liability is independent of her husband, and she has the right to manage her money as she wishes without his permission. In her zakat, she can give to whomever she wants, provided that they are poor and not from her direct ancestors, such as her parents, or from her descendants, such as her children and grandchildren. And God knows best.
