Gave Water to an Elderly Sick Person Thinking He Was Fasting
A person is taking care of an elderly man who is seventy years old and suffers from severe oxygen deficiency and forgetfulness. In the midst of his illness, he asks for water, saying, 'Who will give me a sip of water?' and he believes he is fasting. Is there a sin for the one who gave him water?

I say, and with God's help: If he is lacking his mind, then he is not required to fast, and it is permissible to give him water, and there is no sin on the doer, and God knows best.
