Fulfilling Contracts

Question
My son was enrolled in kindergarten, and a month before the end of the kindergarten year, I did not send my son to kindergarten so that I would not have to pay the remaining fee; because I do not have the money, knowing that I have already paid three-quarters of the amount and only a quarter remains. Is it permissible not to pay the remaining amount since my son did not complete his attendance?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If you have a commitment to the kindergarten for a full academic year, then the fees are due from you even if your son does not attend, unless there is clear negligence from the school or circumstances arise that are beyond control, for example, from the state. If your commitment is monthly regarding the fees, then you are not obligated to pay if you stop attending. Usually, the agreement with kindergartens and private schools is based on the first scenario, and God knows best.
