Four Rak'ahs Prayer Before Asr
It has been narrated in the Sunnah that the prayer of 4 rak'ahs before Asr is intended to be before the adhan. Is it meant before the time of Asr enters or before the Asr prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The intended meaning of the hadith: May God have mercy on the one who prays four (units) before the afternoon prayer in Sahih Ibn Hibban, is that it should be before the afternoon prayer, not before the time begins, and God knows best.
