Forgetting to Give Zakat al-Fitr
The man thought that his wife had given Zakat al-Fitr, and the wife thought that her husband had given Zakat al-Fitr. What should they do now that the time has passed?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The Zakat al-Fitr is not invalidated by not being given before the Eid prayer; it is obligatory at a later time, and it can be given at any time of the year. You may give it now, and the only missed time is the time of recommendation for giving it. And God knows best.
