Feeding as Expiation for Breaking the Fast in Ramadan

Question
What is meant by feeding as expiation for breaking the fast in Ramadan?
Answer
Feeding sixty poor people: two filling meals, either by providing them with a filling lunch and dinner, or two lunches or two dinners, or one dinner and one pre-dawn meal. If one feeds a single poor person for sixty days, it suffices, provided that each one receives two filling meals, and that none of them is full. If he gives each one an eighth of wheat or its flour, it suffices for feeding. It is permissible for one to take the eighth of feeding each day for sixty days. If he pays the value, it is allowed. One expiation is sufficient for multiple acts of intercourse and eating on different days without an intervening expiation, even if from two Ramadans. If an expiation intervenes, one expiation is not sufficient. Refer to: Al-Hadiya Al-Ala'iya, pp. 169-170.
