Question
How much is sufficient for breaking the fast on a day of Ramadan, knowing that there are people who break their fast for the entire month?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Whoever has a continuous excuse that prevents him from fasting entirely should give charity for each day in the amount of two dirhams, which is food for a poor person. If he breaks his fast due to a non-continuous excuse, he has nothing to do except make up the fast. And whoever deliberately breaks the fast must atone by fasting for sixty days; if he is unable to do so, he should feed sixty poor people. And God knows best.
