Fasting for a COVID-19 Patient

Question
A 57-year-old woman was infected today with the coronavirus, and her son insisted that she break her fast, although she does not want to. Is it permissible for her to break her fast?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The fear of worsening the illness due to fasting permits breaking the fast, as is the case; because breaking the fast is based on the harm of worsening the illness and the delay in recovery and the fear of it. Therefore, the assessment of that should be referred to the doctor. If the doctor informs him to break the fast, he should break it, and God knows best.
