Fasting Due to Hardship
My sister's husband is a blacksmith and he said that he cannot fast because of the heat of the sun and the high temperatures, and it is very difficult for him to fast. What is the ruling regarding him?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not an excuse to abandon fasting because of hard work, and if he fasts and during the fast fears for his life due to hunger or thirst, it is permissible for him to break the fast, and God knows best.
