Question
A person broke their fast for the entire month of Ramadan and gave the expiation to a family of five. Is it permissible for the expiation of fasting to be clothing for the poor, or is it required to be money or food?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Half a sa' of wheat or its equivalent should be paid for each day, or clothing equivalent to the value of what is due as compensation can be given. Money is not a requirement, and it is permissible to give anything that can be benefited from. And God knows best.
