Question
A lady swore multiple oaths regarding her son that she would not give him the Eid gift on Eid. On Eid day, she pleased him and gave it to him. What is the ruling on her oaths, and what is the amount of the expiation?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: She is required to perform the expiation of the oath, which is to feed ten needy people, estimated at twenty dinars, and this is the expiation for one oath. If the other oaths are for confirmation, then she is required to perform one expiation. If they are new oaths, then she is required to perform an expiation for each oath. And God knows best.
