Question
What is the ruling on eating the fruits of trees planted by the roadside and feeding one's family from them?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If it belongs to a person, it is protected property that cannot be taken without his permission. If it belongs to the state, it is property of the Muslims in general, and it is not permissible to infringe upon it, except if the state permits its consumption for whomever it wishes. And God knows best.
