Eating After the Adhan for the Fasting Person

Question
I ate a bite that was in my hand after the muezzin called the adhan and drank water. What is the ruling on my voluntary fast? Does it invalidate it? And do I have to make up for it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Fasting, whether obligatory or voluntary, is invalidated if one eats after the call to prayer, and it is required to make up for it. God knows best.
