Ear Drops and Nutritional Injections for the Fasting Person
A fatwa was issued by the Fatwa Department stating that ear drops break the fast, and nutritional injections break the fast. Is this correct or is there a disagreement on the matter?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The issue is controversial, and the Hanafi school of thought holds that feeding injections and ear drops do not break the fast; because they did not enter through a recognized passage into a recognized interior, and God knows best.
