Question
A patient with varicose veins wears compression stockings for treatment, and she describes them as tight on her leg, making it difficult to remove them five times a day. Is it permissible for her to perform ablution for Fajr, wear them, and wipe over them for the remaining prayers?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If they are thick like winter socks, it is permissible to wipe over them for a day and a night like the leather socks. If they are thin and there is no harm in removing them and wiping over them, they must be removed and wiped over. And God knows best.
