Drinking Water During the Adhan
I drank water twice during the Fajr Adhan, knowing that I do not drink during the Fajr Adhan, but my family always drinks during the Fajr Adhan. When I read in the group that it is necessary to make up for it, should my family and I make up for it even though we have a fatwa from a Sheikh that it is permissible to drink during the adhan?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Drinking during the start of the adhan breaks the fast by consensus. If it is during Ramadan, he must make up the fast and pay a penalty. If it is during a makeup fast or a voluntary fast, he must make up the day. And God knows best.
